Oral cancer often begins silently — with subtle signs like white or red patches, or ulcers that don’t heal. Caught early, it can be treated successfully. Missed or delayed, it can become life-threatening.

Who Should Get Screened?

Tobacco or gutkha users (smoked or smokeless)
Regular alcohol consumption
People who vape or smoke
Presence of white or red patches in the mouth
Ulcers, mouth sores, or cuts that don’t heal for more than 2 weeks
Any unusual lumps, irritation, or burning
A family history of oral cancer
Anyone over the age of 40

If you smoke, chew tobacco, or vape, this is not a test to skip. Regular screening is one of the best things you can do for your long-term health.

What Happens During a Screening?

Visually inspect your lips, cheeks, tongue, gums, and palate
Look for non-healing ulcers, white or red patches, or unusual textures.
Monitor any suspicious areas over time.
Recommend further testing or referral if needed
Gently check for any lumps or swelling in your neck and jaw
